See below for how to convert text to curves easily while also learning the different edit options available. Before converting your text to curves, you must first have your text ready on Affinity Designer.

If you do not, type the text in a text box on your page or on top of whatever design is already present. Select the text box by clicking in the area where the text is typed. This will highlight the text with a surrounding blue box marking coordinated dots around the perimeter. Many people resize their text on Affinity Designer by dragging the dots that pop up when the text is selected.

If that is the case for you then there is a video tutorial below where I walk you through each of the steps laid out below. For this demonstration I will be wrapping the text around a circle with Affinity Designer. However, this method works the same with any other path. If your path is not selected then you will not be able to place text along it. Once the cursor has been placed over a valid path, you will notice the cursor changes from a letter A to a letter T with a squiggly line under it.

The cursor change is confirmation that you are clear to place your text along the path. Go ahead and click the path.

You will notice a blinking cursor that appears on the path indication that you can begin typing. At this point you can add your own stylings. Simply triple-click the text to select it, then choose your font and size using the settings in the toolbar just above the artboard. Grabbing attention with text is an integral part of our culture and marketing strategy. With graphics software, designers can easily create bold or subtle text designs that stand out from the rest.

Whether you are a graphic designer, teacher, marketing professional, speaker, entrepreneur, or blogger, the ability to design a good visual text display can be a significant benefit to our presentation skills. Affinity Designer is a powerful and reasonably priced one-time payment vector graphics editor software.

They may offer discounts from time to time and during holidays. Let us take this a step further to make this design standout more by modifying the first letter. The cursor change is confirmation that you are clear to place your text along the path.

When you first curve text with Affinity Designer, the text will be placed either along the inside or the outside of the path.

This depends entirely on what part of the path you initially clicked on. This will reposition your text from the outside of the path to the inside of the path. This works in reverse as well. The Reverse Text Path button can also change the position of the text from the inside of the circle to the outside of the circle. When you curve text with Affinity Designer, you may notice that the base of the text is where the text will be placed on the path.
